Before there can be health and beauty, there must first be love and acceptance. If you want to flourish in any aspect of life and be truly happy, what you do must come from a place of love. This truth applies to you no matter what type of journey you find yourself on. Whether you are setting your mind to take better care of yourself physically, mentally, spiritually, or otherwise, the most important thing you can do is learn to accept where you are and love yourself regardless.

What you have now is a direct reflection of what you were born with and what you have worked to achieve. The level of work that you have put in can easily range from “none at all” to “all of the work”. People who have yet to put the work in, generally, have a certain disadvantage when it comes to self-love. People tend to show love for things and people that they admire. If everything is not just so, some people have a hard time showing love.

However, not all love is about admiration. The type of love that you need to have for yourself at all times must be unconditional and encouraging. It means having a commitment to yourself to always doing what is best for you and always striving to be the best version of yourself. This kind of love doesn’t waver on a bad day when you just can’t seem to pull yourself together. It is this self-love that drives you to do better instead of letting yesterday’s news pull you down.

You are not perfect, no one is. But you were perfectly made in the beginning to become the best you that you can be. You just have to put in the work, make the commitment, and love yourself.
